COMMUNITY

creating change in business does not stop at the door

Helping our local community is important to the B&G team

Doing our bit.

Here at B&G our belief in creating change in business does not stop at the door. From training and nurturing new designers to equality in the workplace, being involved with the local community or our charity exhibitions. It is our purpose to touch the lives of the people we work with and help them shape a space that allows them to be the best they can be.

We believed retail was broken, so in 2020 we re-invented  it.

At B&G we like to lead by example and in March 2020 we undertook a personal project to help local independents through what was a very difficult time. After a conversation around the studio table we decided that we needed to do something about this imminent threat. The result of which became one of the first and biggest, online ‘local’ market places in the UK.

This self initiated project was called Good Liverpool and has since developed into a regional success now called the Good Market.

Continuing to grow and develop, the Good Market has now worked with and supported over 300 artisanal, local producers and makers, making it one of the regions largest markets for curated, lifestyle goods.

IN 2021 GOOD MARKET  WAS SHORTLISTED AS ‘TECH FOR GOOD’  PROJECT OF THE YEAR BY THE DIGITAL CITY AWARDS

Since then the group has been nominated for several awards including Lloyds Bank Business Excellence Awards, Liverpool Echo Awards, Nat West Business Awards.

Laughin’ Exhibition

We believe creativity can put a smile on everyones face, which is why we curated an exhibition that celebrates both humour and creativity whilst making a positive impact, collaborating with local mental health charity The Open Door Centre.

The exhibition was a success with artists from Liverpool and beyond offering their time and creativity to support the cause and produce artwork that tickles the mind and leaves us Laughin’.

Spreading positivity throughout our community

Design  Surgery

Now becoming an annual event, we invite aspiring designers and creatives to our studio for a 1 on 1 portfolio review with Black & Ginger Director Alex Frech and our in-house design team.

With attendees traveling from across the UK and virtually joining us from Europe, we’ve had some great conversations from aspiring designers across the world.

“Alex gave me some great feedback, that will defiantly be used to develop  my portfolio”
